Bone Grafting for Dental ImplantsOnce a tooth has been missing for a while, the jawbone in that area can lose volume, so the bone an implant needs is not always there. Bone augmentation is the general name for the procedures that build a suitable foundation where the implant will sit. A bone graft, guided bone regeneration or, in the upper jaw, sinus floor elevation may all be considered. Which approach suits you, and whether the implant is placed at the same time or after the bone has healed, is something we decide together from your examination and X-rays.
Botox for Bruxism and Jaw ClenchingMost people do not notice that they clench or grind their teeth at night; the first clue is usually a tired jaw in the morning or worn-down teeth. Teeth grinding and jaw clenching happen when the teeth make contact involuntarily and the chewing muscles stay tense for long periods. The assessment looks at wear on your teeth, your bite, how your jaw moves and how tender the muscles are. Where it is appropriate, we talk through a night guard that protects the teeth from the load at night, along with ways of managing daytime habits.

PRP after tooth extractionHealing does not follow the same course for everyone after a tooth is taken out. PRP means placing platelet-rich plasma, prepared from your own blood, into the socket where the tooth was. The aim is to protect the blood clot that forms there and help the soft tissues settle. Whether it is needed is something we work out from the extent of the extraction, what we find in your mouth and your general medical history.
PRP for Dental Implant SurgeryIn implant surgery, PRP is not a treatment in its own right but something used alongside the surgery already planned. Platelet-rich plasma, prepared from your own blood, is placed at the implant site or where a graft has been used. The aim is to support the healing of the soft tissue and bone in that area. It is not needed in every case; we decide that together with you, from the examination and your X-rays.
Sinus Lift with Chronic SinusitisWhen teeth are missing at the back of the upper jaw, the sinus cavity can limit the bone height an implant needs — which is why sinus floor elevation comes up. If you have chronic sinusitis, the order changes: the state of the sinus is assessed first and, where necessary, looked at together with an ENT specialist. Surgery is not planned while an infection is active. From your X-rays and CT scans we work out the condition of the sinus membrane, the bone height and the right timing.
TMJ Treatment for International PatientsPain in the jaw joint, a jaw that locks as you open your mouth or a clicking sound rarely comes down to a single cause; the muscles, the joint and your bite are assessed together. For most people the approach starts with conservative steps: a night guard, managing jaw habits and, where needed, physiotherapy. Imaging is not needed in every case and is requested when the findings call for it. We look at when the symptoms began, how they affect your daily life and what the examination shows, then talk you through the steps.
