When not to wait, what to do then, and how to limit pain until you reach the clinic.
The following conditions should not wait, regardless of the time. If swallowing or breathing is difficult, go to the nearest emergency department, not a dental clinic.
If you have difficulty swallowing or breathing, swelling has spread below the eye or into the neck, or you have a high fever, go directly to the nearest emergency department. These conditions require hospital emergency care, not a dental unit.
The following measures are intended to limit pain and damage; they do not replace treatment.
If a permanent tooth has been completely knocked out, time is the most important factor. Hold the tooth by the crown, not the root. If dirty, rinse it for a few seconds with milk or saline, without scrubbing. If possible, place it back in the socket and bite down gently; otherwise, carry it in milk. Water damages root cells.
This content is for general information and does not replace a personal examination. Symptoms may occur in more than one condition; diagnosis can only be made through clinical examination.
The clinic is approximately 11 km from central Kepez, or 12 min by car. It is open 24 hours every day, with a dentist continuously available.
The time estimate assumes no traffic. It may be longer on the coastal road during the summer months.
